our love story...
We met in 2013 while attending Michigan State University. Our friendship started when we both worked at Applebee’s in East Lansing. After graduation, Jenna took a job at Quicken Loans and Jon started there just 5 months later and we rekindled the friendship. Jon was very persistent in getting Jenna to hang out and, after a few attempts, was able to secure a first date! Fast forward a few years and we now have a lovely home together in Royal Oak with our dog, Sampson.
Jon proposed back at Michigan State University before a football game at the same spot that we took our very first picture together 4 years earlier. ☺ Jon was excited and extremely nervous, and to be honest, neither one of us remember exactly what was said since we were both anxious and in complete shock! Jon had planned a celebration engagement brunch the next day with several of our friends, and it was a weekend we will never forget.
We chose The Homestead as our wedding venue because we are absolutely in love with the area. We take trips up to northern Michigan quite often with our friends and family and it definitely feels like our happy place. The views are spectacular and there is always something to do. We hope you enjoy the location as much as we do!

Sleeping Bear Dunes-In 2011, Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore was named the most beautiful place in America. The park contains thousands of acres of rolling dunes and forest, all open to exploration by foot or car. It's a great place for a picnic, walk, or just spending the day at the beach.
Take a winery tour! There are so many to choose from but some of our favorites are Chateau Fontaine, Bluestone Vineyards, Bowers Harbor, and Chateau Chantal
Hang out downtown! It's such a charming little downtown with plenty of shops, restaurants, and of course-beer and wine!
